I am from Florida, but have lived in Mexico for some 20 years. Anna Ruth is from Merida.
I am a sales manager for Standard Aero Ltd out of Winnipeg, MB, Canada, the world's largest independent aircraft engine overhaul company. I handle Latin American sales.
We live in Merida AND Hunucma. We just built a little place in Huncuma where we spend the weekends. We just completed it last year really learned a lot about self contracting. It was a lot of fun, however Anna Ruth forbids me to take on another building project until after I retire!!!! That will be in about four years.
As far as activity in Sunset Beach, so far I have seen no signs of building. I was out there just this past weekend.
We have had a lot of rain in September, which is great for the shrubs.
Oh, by the way....The ex-shrimp farm is becoming a bit of an issue. The drainage ditches which are now of course stagnate have become an excellent breeding ground for mosquitoes, so you may want to mention that to Guy. I have no idea if there is anything we can do about it, but I thought I would bring it up. Hopefully by the time we get ready to build it will have taken care of itself!

Just yesterday we drove out to Sunset Beach and on one of the small lots, 4009, there was machinary working on the footer for a house.
